Idears [Mar. 14th, 2006|08:35 pm]

Initially I had reservations about posting plot ideas before I’m prepared to do any actual work on animating them, but who knows if/when I’ll ever get to them, so posting them will at least make it tougher for me to forget.

A few recent FUTV ideas:

Sam from Quantum Leap rights some wrong and leaps out, only to find that he has leaped into Scott Bakula on the set of Enterprise.

Battlestar Galactica ‘78 crewmembers freaking out at the idea that “Cylons look like us now.” Cut to scene of kickass ‘78 cylon costume with people colored makeup on it.

Crew of Basestar Cylonica freaking out that “humans look like us now.” Cut to scene of ‘78 cylon costume roaming the halls amongst skinjob cylons.

Man, I have a serious case of Battlestar on the brain.

Moral Kids Show [Feb. 28th, 2006|09:03 pm]

Here’s a couple of the rough characters I worked up a couple years ago, before I really had any idea what I wanted to do with them. What I want to do with them is the Still Untitled Moral Kids show I mentioned in the previous post.

The first one is a hip little ratty:

The second one is that insecure lizard I mentioned (notice the Barbie fur coat which makes him feel like one of the guys.)

Incidentally, I really need a title for this show. Any suggestions?

Intro [Feb. 28th, 2006|07:18 pm]
There are actually 3 shows I've been thinking about all at the same time:

Fair Use TV is currently the name given to my animated television character show, but may end up as the collective name for my 'network.' Who knows for sure.

Useless But Cool is kind of a Discovery Channel/FoodTV style live action show (starring me! and guests!) where I demonstrate something totally useless but cool, with the goal of teaching the viewer how to do it. Shuffling cards with one hand, throwing cards, blowing smoke rings, ollie on skateboard, spinning a pen, making your own tv show, etc.

Untitled Moral Kids Show is an idea I've wanted to do for a long time. The idea is thematically much like Veggie Tales in that it's a bunch of silly animated characters that teach viewers different aspects of morality, but I want it to be more secular and based on mythology and various other Olde Tyme(tm) stories. Possibly even including stories from the Bible, Koran, Talmud, etc, but portrayed in a secular fashion. ie a good example of how to live life, not a command from a supreme being. Basically life lessons that everyone can agree with portrayed in a fashion that most anyone will find entertaining. As of now the speaking characters will all be pets in a household who observe the behavior of their humans, the tv and movies they see on their humans television, etc. There are various rodents, a lizard (who wears a Barbie fur coat to fit in with the rodents better), a cat, an AIBO, etc. Perhaps they'll have dealings with friendly squirrels and birds from outside as well.

I've got some really old charater designs for Moral that I need to scan in, and when they're up you can see them here.
